A trademark is how customers recognise and find your products or services - and often one of the most valuable assets your business owns.
ZMP supports your trademarks at every stage - from initial clearance and registration to disputes and enforcement.
A strong trademark starts with the right foundations. We assess whether your mark is distinctive and available, identify potential conflicts and help you secure protection where it matters.
From registration and portfolio management to renewals, assignments, licensing and disputes, we look after your trademark rights throughout their lifecycle. And when challenges arise, we provide practical advice on negotiation and enforcement.
Identical and similar-mark searches, distinctiveness assessment and a filing strategy across the classes and territories that matter to you.
Direct national applications, EUTM and Madrid System designations, with class specifications drafted for the way you actually trade.
Responses to refusals, oppositions and cancellation actions before the competent IP offices, with appeals where the outcome warrants it.
Deadline monitoring, renewals, assignments, mergers, licence recordals and watch services that flag conflicting third-party filings.
Licence and assignment agreements, coexistence and settlement negotiation, and due diligence for transactions and financing.
Infringement and unfair competition proceedings, customs watch applications, and online marketplace and domain takedowns.
No. A company name and a trademark serve different legal purposes. Registering a company does not grant exclusive rights to use that name as a product brand, and a third party may still attempt to register the same or a confusingly similar sign.
It depends on the office and on whether the application is opposed. A straightforward national filing in the region typically proceeds to registration within several months to about a year; we set out the expected timeline for each jurisdiction before filing.
That follows your market, not the other way round. We compare cost and coverage for the territories you actually trade in and recommend the combination that protects the mark without paying for jurisdictions you do not need.
We assess the strength of your rights, send a cease-and-desist where that is likely to resolve matters, and pursue opposition, cancellation, customs seizure, platform takedown or court proceedings where it is not.
Tell us about your trademark, the goods and services, and the markets that matter to you. We will come back with a clear filing strategy, timeline and cost estimate.
